Day of the Dead
Dia de los Muertos era esta semana. There were many things set up on campus on the 4th floor of Old Main. I went up there to look at all of the displays and they were really cool! Each one was so detailed! I wish I could have taken some pictures to post but I never have my camera when I need it. I did find some cool pictures online though! Cool pictures from Day of the Dead!

Who were some of the altars dedicated to? Im just curious as to how they choose and why they choose certain people to celebrate. I haven't found anything on the internet that specifies the "who" part of the tradition. The only thing that mentions anything said that it doesn't have to be someone famous, but it can be anybody.
ReplyDeleteI checked out the 4th floor, too! The alters were interesting. Martha, I don't think there is a rule concerning "who" - just do one for whomever you want to who has passed to the great beyond. There was one alter dedicated to "Rock and Roll Legends" which honored musicians like Elvis. I also found a site online that had alters for dead pets - including a ROOSTER!
